Topic: Antiterrorism Force Protection Standards – Buildings and Sites
Presenter: John J. Lynch, P.E.
This presentation will give an overview of the Department of Defense Minimum Antiterrorism Force Protection (ATFP) Standards for Buildings and Sites. It will include background information detailing the development of the ATFP standards and the jurisdiction responsible for implementation of these standards. Numerous video demonstrations and examples where ATFP standards were used are also included.
Mr. John Lynch has over 28 years of experience as an engineer in the Department of Defense and is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Pennsylvania. He is a Villanova University graduate with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in civil engineering. Mr. Lynch first worked for Naval Facilities Engineering Command – ATLANTIC and currently in their Northern Division. He specializes in structural analysis and design of waterfront facilities. Mr. Lynch is an expert in ATFP criteria, and has assisted in the development of numerous Unified Facilities Criteria and specifications.
